关于AIVA
The Academy of International Visual Arts (AIVA), founded in 2005, is an independent art and design institution located in central Shanghai, China. Over the past 18 years, it has evolved into a thriving creative hub with a strong international network in the field of art and design higher education.
Recognizing the growing trend of Chinese students pursuing art and design education in the UK and acknowledging the significant differences between the British and Chinese educational systems, AIVA aims to design a bridging course to prepare students for their future studies in UK higher education.
AIVA offers two one-year programs: the Foundation and Pre-MA Studies in Art and Design. The concept behind these programs is to reconstruct the foundation courses by integrating curricula from both British and Chinese educational systems. These programs establish and maintain an accredited and regulated standard of further and higher education. The subjects covered in the programs include Fine Art, Visual Communication, Fashion, Jewellery, Product Design, Interior Design, Moving Image, Architecture, and Management.
The primary objective of AIVA is to develop students' academic proficiency in art and design practice and facilitate their transition from studying in China to studying in the UK. AIVA also takes responsibility for enhancing students' language skills to meet the qualifications required for studying in the UK and assists students with visa applications towards the end of the academic year. The innovation of AIVA's program will, on one hand, economically enable students to experience foundation training in their own country and, on the other hand, allow UK institutions to ensure the quality of recruited students from China.
AIVA's local teaching staff have all received training in UK higher education and graduated with distinctions. This includes both full-time staff based in Shanghai and visiting part-time lecturers from other leading institutions, such as the Central Academy of Fine Art in Beijing and the China Academy of Fine Art in Hangzhou. To foster this "international" course, AIVA welcomes suggestions and academic contributions from art institutions on a global scale..
