I believe that visual communication can be understood by breaking it down into two words, “visual” and “communication”, with the aim of conveying a message to the audience through a visual medium. And I am interested in exploring the visual field by combining different media.

The project Autumn in Chestnuts is inspired by the special meaning of chestnuts to me; they evoke memories and longings, leading me to develop associations with autumn through its taste, in terms of memory, touch, and nature. To demonstrate the association with autumn, I chose the packaging of roasted chestnuts. For example, in Touch of Wood, I used velvet and linen to allow the viewer to feel the texture of wood. By arranging the images and mixing materials, I aspired to create new feelings. The project is presented as a book, inviting viewers to experience autumn in my world.

In Where my Attachment Lies, I explored theories of place attachment by revisiting childhood memories, focusing on the relationship between contact with caregivers and exploration of my surroundings to explain my attachment to place. I experimented with the video format to narrate the connection between my upbringing and place through an interactive performance with spatial installations, collages and monologues.

The Poetic Boxes installation begins with my crush experience and combines literary and visual expressions of personal feelings around deep emotions. I created five poems and used mixed media to make boxes that the audience can open themselves and discover the emotions hidden in the corners of these boxes.

All of these projects take a rational approach to thinking and subtly present emotional content, from self-reflection to generating new thoughts and exploring how emotions are visually represented. I hope that the viewer will gain new perspectives and insights from these personalised expressions, or that they will resonate with them.

对于视觉传达,我认为其可以拆解成两个词来理解,“视觉”和“传达”,将信息通过视觉的媒介传达给受众。我热衷于结合不同的媒介进行视觉领域的探索。

《栗的秋》灵感来源于栗子对我的特殊性,它对我来说有着回忆和憧憬,所以我通过它的味道,从记忆、触觉、自然等方面展开对秋天的联想。我选用了糖炒栗子的包装袋并在每个袋子装进我的联想。比如其中一个重点是秋天木头的触感,我用天鹅绒和亚麻面料,让观众能够触摸到木头的质感。该作品采用图片的排列方式及综合材料辅佐来创造新的感觉,最终以书的方式呈现,邀请观众进入我的世界的秋天。在《我的依恋所在》中,我从回顾童年记忆中研究地方依恋的理论,将重点放在与照顾者的接触和对周围环境的探索之间的关系来解释我的地方依恋。我尝试了视频形式,通过与空间装置的互动表演,拼贴的画面和独白,叙述我的成长和地方之间的联系。《暗盒》装置由我的暗恋经历出发,围绕深刻的感受,结合了文学和视觉表达个人情感。我创作了五首诗,用综合材料来制作盒子,让观众自主打开并发现藏在盒子各个角落的暗恋情愫。

这些项目都以理性的方式思考,用含蓄的角度展现感性的内容,从反思自身至产生新的思考,并研究情感是如何用视觉体现的。希望观众从个人化表达中看见新的角度与见解,或引发共鸣。
