I am a sentimental person. Jewellery, with its narrative and quality and commemorative meaning, is the best way for me to express my emotions. The artwork Passing originated from the empty feeling I felt when my grandmother passed away. I found some of her belongings at home. Although my grandmother has left me, these items are still preserved in our home even though those objects are no longer being used. For example, her cloth is still hung on a hook at the back of the door, her chopsticks with the flower pattern cannot be recognised, and her medicine box. The rub marks on these items not only show the time that has passed but also becomes a symbol of my grief. Based on these items, I created two wearable pieces and one interactive item. This reflects a sense of emptiness and regret when things remain, but people are gone. These works not only express my longing for my grandmother but also fill the emptiness in my heart.

The artwork Trace is dedicated to my art teacher who passed away. When I was a beginner, he introduced me to the art world, and it has become my lifelong interest. I have always remembered his guidance. Therefore, I chose common elements in the art studio, such as plaster and pencils, as my main materials. The round plaster comes from the basic ball-shaped plaster used in sketching practice. The graphite is set in the plaster at the position of the boundary between light and shade, which will leave sketch-like traces gradually making the round plaster appear three-dimensional visual effect. The traces left by the plaster and the pencil respectively represent me who knew nothing about art and the teacher who taught me. I hope to memory the time I spent with my teacher in the classroom through this artwork.


我是一个念旧的人。首饰这一媒介所包含的叙事性和纪念意义使它成为我表达情感的最佳媒介。

作品《逝去》来源于奶奶去世时内心涌现的空洞感。我在家里找到了一些奶奶的生前用品,并尝试结合这些物品进行创作。即使没有人继续使用这些物品,他们依然被保留在家中,比如奶奶的衣服至今挂在门背后的钩子上,花纹已经模糊不清的筷子,以及奶奶的药盒。这些物品表面的斑驳既表现了奶奶逝去的时间,也成为了我悲伤的印记。根据这些物品我创作了两件可佩戴的首饰以及一件互动性的摆饰。这些作品不仅表达了我对已过世奶奶的思念,也是我填补内心空白的一个过程。

作品《痕迹》纪念了我一位去世的美术老师。在我对绘画一无所知的时候,他带我了解了什么是美术,从此美术成为了陪伴我至今的兴趣,我将他对我的教导一直铭记于心。因此我选择了画室里常见的元素:石膏、铅笔作为我的主要材料。圆形的石膏来源于素描练习中基础的球形石膏,埋在明暗交界线的铅芯会随着佩戴者的摩擦不断留下素描般的痕迹,逐渐使圆形石膏显得立体,石膏与铅芯留下的痕迹分别表现曾经对美术一无所知的我和老师对我的教导。以此来怀念曾经与老师在课堂上的时光。
