I believe that as good designers, we should not limit ourselves to our own professional field. In this era of globalization, we ought to be at the forefront of professional integration. Therefore, when conceptualizing my work, I am always influenced by the clothing, materials, and aesthetics of various design fields.

For example, TEMPORARY PAVILION is a pop-up store for the brand that serves as a temporary space to showcase the brand’s style and products. In this project, I used recyclable materials to reduce the environmental impact after the pavilion is dismantled. I chose barbed wire for the structure, known for its lightness and flexibility, mimicking the folds of fabric. The gaps in the barbed wire allow light to pass through, similar to how I imagine translucent interior lighting.

On the outer layer of the wire mesh, I cast different textures with melted wax. Different textures develop as the wax dries. The wax cast on the outside of the wire mesh can control the lighting in the room; the thickness of the wax controls the intensity of the light, creating different shadows in the sunlight. The shape of the building is light and mostly circular. The final model of this project is not an engineering model; it is more of a sculptural model. With lots of curved elements, I wanted this model to look light. Although it is wrapped in wax on the outside, I wanted the interior to feel light and allow sunlight to enter.


我认为作为一个优秀的设计师,不应该受限于自己的专业领域,尤其在这个全球化的时代,我们应该置身于专业融合的前沿。因此,在构思我的作品时,我总是受到服装、材料以及不同设计领域美学风格的影响。

比如在《临时展厅》中,为品牌建立了一个快闪店,这是一个展示品牌风格和产品的临时场所。因此,在这个项目中,我使用可回收的材料,以避免展馆拆除后对环境造成污染。我选择了钢丝作为结构,它轻便灵活,可以模仿布料的褶皱。铁丝网的缝隙可以让光线穿过,这接近了我对半透明室内照明的想象。在钢丝网的外层,我用融化的蜡铸造不同的纹理。蜡干后会形成不同的纹理。铸在钢丝网外部的蜡可以控制室内的采光,蜡的厚度控制室内光线的强度,在阳光下可以形成不同的阴影。建筑形态轻盈,主要以圆形为主。这个项目的最终模型不是一个工程模型,更像是一个雕塑模型。我想让这个模型看起来很轻,因此使用了许多弯曲的元素,而尽管外部包裹着蜡,我希望内部空间仍能感觉明亮,保持阳光的透过。
