My project is an installation piece centred around the theme of reflecting on human interactions in everyday transactions. I have used the steelyard as a medium, employing numerous metal hearts to represent the “gap” hidden behind marketplace, which encapsulate the emotional connections between individuals that are often overlooked in contemporary society. The steelyard serves as a witness to these relationships.

The practice of conducting business with a steelyard also reflects the unique aspects of Chinese culture, where there exists a certain latitude for human adjustments based on principles. It transcends mere economic interests, emphasising instead the significance of emotional exchanges between people. However, with the advancement of science and technology, the prevalence of accurate electronic scales prompts me to contemplate the diminishing human emotions associated with them. This realization stirs a yearning for the intimate “human” relationships of the past, motivating me to explore the emotional connections between myself and others through this interactive art project.

I hope that through my work, the audience can extend their contemplation of human emotions, prompting them to reflect on the transactional dynamics present in their daily lives.

我的项目是一个装置作品，主题是关于日常买卖中人情往来的反思，我将杆秤作为媒介，用大量的金属爱心来表现买卖背后的“误差”，这也是如今我们很难感受到的人情往来。

而杆秤是它的见证。用杆秤做生意也正反映了中国文化的独特之处，即一种在原则里允许的人情活动。在生意中、在日常生活的为人处世上，从不只是简单的利益往来，而更看重人与人之间情感的交流。随着时代的进步和科技的发展，现在随处可见超市里、菜场上摆放着精确无误的电子秤以及我们的日常交易都变成电子货币。让我们逐渐遗失了人情冷暖。我开始对亲密的“人情”关系产生怀念，并想通过一个互动式的艺术活动来探究背后所包含的自身与他人之间的情感关联。

我希望观众能从我的作品中延伸出对人情的思考，比如对自己日常生活中的交易状态的反思。
