I am fond of observing life and integrate the trivialities of daily life into artistic creation. I believe that art should ultimately come from life, and on this basis, I will conduct in-depth thinking and integrate my own perception.
My work Sardine Can was inspired by the rush houron the tube. Using the common metaphor of being packed like sardines, I use the can as a metaphor for the carriages and the sardines as a metaphor for the passengers. I observed all kinds of passengers in the carriage and hand-painted their clothes, appearance, expressions and movements. This resulted in a sardine character with different personalities. The sardines are hung on the 'subway railings' and can also be removed and worn individually as brooches.
Current social issues are the focus of my works. I observed some inequities in the carriage, which led me to think that everyone in the carriage is a fish, and no one will give you special rights because of your status or wealth or poverty. For me, artistic creation is more like a way for me to connect with random events and ideas in my life, and more like an expression of my personal emotions. Although life repeats itself every day, still I wish I had a sense of novelty in my days.
