I prioritise combining a sense of design with the practicality of clothing in my designs and am passionate about drawing inspiration from fashion of the past, a trait that is clearly evident in my project Times. This collection takes inspiration from the black-and-white film MordenTimes, which humorously depicts the struggles of the working class in the United States during the Great Depression.

In my research, I delved into the clothing of 1930s Americans, extracting elements such as the popular straight-cut style dresses of the time, as well as the neat and tidy suits worn by capitalists in the film, contrasted with the worn-out, oil-stained aprons, and denim jumpsuits of the working class. Additionally, I incorporated elements like screws, buttons, and gears that frequently appeared in the film into fabric manipulations. I used a flame gun to slightly burned some gears, screws, and buttons to create a style that is both retro and imbued with a modern casual aesthetic.
